Privacy Policy
Hey there! We know privacy policies are usually boring legal documents that nobody reads. We're trying something different — this is our honest, straightforward explanation of how TrackC handles your data.
We built TrackC because we got lost at concerts too. We're not here to collect your data and sell it to advertisers. We're here to help you never get lost at a festival again.
The Simple Version
Here's what we collect and why:
- Your phone number — to send you login codes (that's it)
- Your location — only when you're actively using navigation
- Downloaded maps — stored on your phone, not our servers
- Basic usage stats — to make the app better
What we DON'T do:
- ❌ Sell your data to anyone
- ❌ Track you when you're not using the app
- ❌ Store your location history
- ❌ Spam you with marketing calls
What Information We Collect
1. Your Phone Number
What: Your mobile phone number
Why: To send you OTP codes for secure login
How long: Until you delete your account
Who sees it: Just us and our OTP service provider
We use your phone number exclusively for authentication. We're not going to call you, text you promotions, or share it with anyone else. It's literally just for logging you into the app securely.
2. Location Data
What: Your GPS coordinates
Why: To provide navigation from your location to venues and within venues
When: Only when you're actively using navigation features
Storage: Not stored on our servers — processed in real-time only
Location is the core of what makes TrackC work. But here's the key difference from other apps: we don't store your location history. When you use navigation, we process your current location to give you directions, but we don't keep a record of where you've been.
Your location data is used for:
- Navigating from your current position to parking areas
- Guiding you from parking to the correct venue entrance
- Providing directions within venues (stages, food, washrooms, exits)
- Auto-detecting when you're inside a festival to unlock offline features
3. Offline Map Data
What: Venue maps, navigation routes, facility locations
Where: Downloaded and stored locally on your device
Access: Only you have access to this data on your phone
Privacy: We can't see what maps you've downloaded or when you use them
This is actually a privacy feature. By storing maps on your device instead of our servers, we can't track which venues you visit or when you visit them. The offline approach means better privacy AND better functionality when there's no signal at concerts.
4. Usage Analytics
What: App crashes, feature usage, performance data
Why: To fix bugs and improve the app
Privacy: Anonymized — we can't connect this data back to you personally
We collect basic analytics to understand how people use TrackC and where we need to improve. This includes things like:
- Which features are used most often
- Where the app crashes or has performance issues
- How long navigation takes on average
- Which venues have the most downloads
This data is anonymized, which means we can see patterns but can't identify individual users.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for exactly three purposes:
- Authentication: Your phone number lets you log in securely
- Navigation: Your location provides real-time directions
- Improvement: Anonymous usage data helps us make the app better
That's it. We're not building advertising profiles, we're not selling data to third parties, and we're not trying to figure out your personal habits. We're just trying to help you get from point A to point B at concerts.
Third-Party Services
TrackC uses a few external services to function properly:
OTP Service Provider
We use a third-party service to send SMS codes for login. They see your phone number when we send you an OTP, but they don't store it or use it for anything else.
Analytics Service
We use analytics tools to understand app performance and usage patterns. All data sent to these services is anonymized.
Map Data
Venue maps are created by our team and crowdsourced from the community. We don't use third-party mapping services that might track your usage.
Your Rights and Controls
Your data belongs to you. Here's what you can do with it:
Access Your Data
Want to see what data we have about you? Just ask. We'll send you everything we have on file (which honestly isn't much — just your phone number and some anonymous usage stats).
Delete Your Data
Want to delete your account and all associated data? You can do this directly in the app settings, or contact us and we'll handle it immediately.
Control Location Access
You can turn off location access anytime in your phone's settings. The app will still work for viewing downloaded maps, but navigation features won't function without location access.
Opt Out of Analytics
You can disable analytics in the app settings if you prefer not to share anonymous usage data.
Data Security
We take security seriously, but we also don't want to overcomplicate things with technical jargon. Here's what we do to keep your data safe:
- Encryption: All data transmission is encrypted
- Minimal storage: We store as little data as possible on our servers
- Access controls: Only essential team members can access user data
- Regular security reviews: We regularly audit our security practices
The best security practice is not storing sensitive data in the first place. That's why most of your TrackC data (like downloaded maps) stays on your device where only you can access it.
Children's Privacy
TrackC is designed for concert-goers, and we know many of our users are under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to help you use the app.
If we discover that we've collected information from a child under 13, we'll delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We might update this privacy policy as TrackC evolves and adds new features. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app and give you a chance to review the updates before they take effect.
We'll always maintain the same core principles: collect as little data as possible, be transparent about what we do collect, and never sell your information to anyone.
International Users
TrackC is built for the Indian market, but we know music fans travel for concerts. If you're using TrackC from outside India, the same privacy practices apply.
Your data is processed and stored in accordance with Indian privacy laws and international best practices.

privacy@trackc.inThe Bottom Line
We built TrackC because we're music fans who got tired of getting lost at concerts. We're not a data company trying to build advertising profiles. We're not a big tech company trying to track your every move.
We're just trying to build the concert navigation app India needs, and we want to do it in a way that respects your privacy and treats your data responsibly.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please reach out. We're always happy to explain our practices and hear your feedback.
Remember: This privacy policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. By using TrackC, you agree to both documents. But more importantly, by using TrackC, you're joining a community of music fans who are building better concert experiences together.
